Stranded Weapons and Crates: The Loot Rankings
Every worthwhile weapon and crate in MW4 Stranded ranked — the silenced shotgun, the thermal sniper, the moving train Mosin, the X-Void SMG and the gun-wall trick.
Stranded hides its best hardware in plain sight: behind keypads, inside yellow crates, on a moving train. This page ranks the loot that actually changes your run, from the signature weapons that define high-difficulty play to the quality-of-life pickups that make the difference between a sweep and a scramble.
The Signature Three
The silenced shotgun — the Bunker objective's reward. The weapon that justifies the night-vision descent and the generator puzzle. Inside the mission's closer engagements — outpost interiors, the village streets, the bunker corridors themselves — a silenced shotgun converts noise-dependent fights into quiet errands. On Veteran and above it is the community's consensus first-pick, and the standard route takes the Bunker early precisely to have it for everything after.
The thermal sniper rifle — the SAM Site's reward. Thermal optics read the fog the plateau crossing pretends you cannot see through, and the rifle's arrival immediately re-pays its objective: the site's defensive phase, with reinforcements arriving across open ground, is its natural showcase. The community's high-difficulty counter-consensus — take SAM first despite the longer approach — exists entirely for this gun, and outpost clearing across the rest of the map becomes a different activity once it is slung.
The Hyeon Burst rifle — thermal and suppressed together, inside a fixed crate guarded by a booby trap: the community's guidance is to throw a grenade first to detonate the trap, then collect. A burst rifle with dual optics-and-suppression profile is Stranded's most complete single pickup, and the trap is the mission's way of pricing it honestly.
The Container and Moving Pulls
The X-Void SMG (container 0078) — subsonic rounds, the quiet workhorse. Ranked on the codes pages as the best keypad pull; ranked here as the third leg of the stealth arsenal. For players running the mission quietly, X-Void close plus thermal long is the loadout that makes Recruit-to-Veteran feel like one continuous mood.
The Mosin-Nagant (moving crate — the circuit train) — the mission's classic-rifle flourish, riding the rails until you decide to stop the train's progress with your presence. Collecting a moving crate is its own small set-piece: time the stop, clear or avoid the escort, open the box.
The Scout Drone (moving crate — the mountain truck) — the utility pickup, riding the truck that circles the map's high ground. A scout drone in an open-country mission is reconnaissance as loot, and the community rates it with the signature weapons for how it de-risks everything else.
The Solid Middle
The Kastov 762 (suppressed, underbarrel shotgun variant) anchors the mid-tier — a full-rifle answer to mixed-range outpost fights. The Warlord shotgun brings explosive rounds to close quarters when subtlety has already failed. The Rezi 12 Enforcer waits at the top of the signal tower, a climb-rewarded pickup. The WZ .55 Striga Rampage SMG and the Type 73 LMG with its ACOG round out the fixed-castle pulls, and the Backpack Upgrade quietly improves every subsequent run by expanding what you can carry out of the country. None are signature-defining; all are worth the stop on a full sweep, and several justify their detours on supply value alone.
The Gun-Wall Trick
The exploit that lifts the whole loot economy: pick up any weapon in the field, return to Base Camp, swap it away — and the gun wall now permanently offers that weapon with its new attachments. One pickup anywhere in the mission equals permanent unlock at camp, which converts every weapon this page ranks from a single-run find into a roster addition. Combined with the mission's re-entry through Mission Select, Stranded becomes the campaign's armory: sweep once, unlock broadly, and every subsequent mission inherits the library. The community discovered this in the mission's first days, and no loot page is honest without it.
Routing the Loot
The efficient full-sweep order, for players who want everything: Bunker first (silenced shotgun defines the run), cliff container and outposts toward the river (0600, then 6789 and the island bunker's 0008), the village network (0078's X-Void and the Hyeon Burst's trapped crate if the route passes), SAM Site (thermal rifle), the farmland bunker (0330) on the transition, Jamming Station last (8609 on approach, bomb drones for the finale) — with the train and truck stops slotted wherever their circuits pass your position. Twenty-six yellow crates, seven locks, three objectives, one exit. The mission walkthrough holds the full route; this page holds what it is all for.
