Shipping Container Codes: All Five Locks
The five MW4 Stranded shipping container codes — 8609, 0078, 0600, 1234 and 6789 — with exact locations, note clues and what each container holds.
Five locked shipping containers stand across Stranded's open map, each sealed by a four-digit keypad and each clued by a note somewhere nearby. This page documents all five — the code, the location, the note pairing and the reward — ranked by what the lock is actually worth to your run.
0078 — The X-Void Container
Location: by the bridge in the southeastern village, beside the large marker sign, around (652, 187). Contents: the X-Void SMG with subsonic rounds.
The best pull among the containers and it is not close. Subsonic ammunition makes the X-Void the quietest meaningful firepower in the mission — the weapon you want for outpost approaches on higher difficulties, where noise is the difference between a sweep and a siege. The village setting means a small fight is likely on approach; the container sits close enough to the bridge that you can collect it during the natural sweep toward the river network. If you only detour for one lock in Stranded, the community's answer is this one.
8609 — The Drill Charges Container
Location: south of the Jamming Station, around (667, 125). Contents: three Drill Charges.
Timing is what makes this container matter: it sits directly on the approach to the Jamming Station objective, so the natural play is to collect the charges and carry them straight into the climb-and-fog sequence that follows. Drill Charges pay for themselves wherever the terrain or a locked position needs persuasive opening, and having three in reserve smooths the mission's back half. The note that clues the code sits at (666, 125), essentially beside the container — one of the few lock-note pairs that requires no detour at all.
0600 — The Cliff Container
Location: on the cliff north of Base Camp, around (646, 149). Contents: armor plates and five supplies.
The convenience container. Its position above Base Camp makes it the first lock most players encounter, collectible within a minute or two of leaving camp for the first time — and on Veteran and above, the armor plates it holds are not bonus loot but the margin you will wish you had later. Ten supplies ride along. On any difficulty, this is the tutorial the game intends: a keypad, a note at (646, 149) a short walk away, and the lesson that Stranded's locks reward players who read their surroundings.
1234 — The Signpost Container
Location: beside the large signpost, around (634, 136). Contents: armor plates and ten supplies.
The middle sibling: the same armor-plate payload as the cliff container with double the supplies, sitting on the western leg of the standard loop between the river network and the farmland. The note pairing for this one comes from the Base Camp area at (644, 158), which means most players have already read the clue without knowing it. Ten supplies makes it worth the ninety-second stop on a full sweep; on speedruns it is the container most often skipped, which the achievement hunters regret later.
6789 — The River Island Container
Location: on the small river island near the watchtower, around (618, 132). Contents: ten supplies.
The scenic lock. The river island sits on the route between the village network and the northern country, close to the watchtower that orients most players' mental map of the river section. The note at (618, 132) is effectively on the island itself. Ten supplies and the island's proximity to the 0008 bunker — whose hidden entrance is nearby — make this a natural pairing stop: collect the container, open the bunker, leave with a full detour's worth of value.
Reading the Set
The pattern across all five: the code is always in a nearby note, the reward scales with the detour's inconvenience, and none of the locks gates anything required. The 0078 container is the prize, 8609 and 0600 are the practical picks, and 1234 and 6789 are the completionist's territory — every one of them feeding either the Time to Crate count or the supply margin that higher difficulties demand. The full-route context for collecting all five lives in the mission walkthrough; the note-clue system that generates every code is documented next.
